Friday 21stof September 2012and it is time to leave Maersk Claudia, well, now her name is Gulf Eagle and she will leave Hong Kong for Korea to load gas oil for her new owners. No more grouphugs onboard Maersk Claudia and I doubt that there will be any group hugs onboard after they changed the name to Gulf Eagle.
But you can enjoy a few of our GROUP HUGS onboard M/T Maersk Claudia below while we're in the service launch taking us ashore to Hong Kong. And a quick showerat the hotel and I'm ready to get out to discover the night life in Hong Kong.
I expect to be pretty impatient by the time we reach the hotel. First we will have to survive a boat trip, transportation to the hotel, with all the luggage handling and check in. And there will be 8 or 9 of us so this will take quite some time. OK, I can killsome time in the lobby bar.
And I'm also pretty sure there will be a 7 Eleven or something to explore while waiting. A 6 pack of San Miguel Light is never wrong.
Last slide show from Maersk Claudia
The launch was booked for 18:00 but as things turned way better than expected it was changed to 17:00. I tried to get some sleep after lunch, without any luck. I went out of bed at 3 thirty and I packed my last stuff and I went on deck 10 minutes before 5. The sea and swell is pretty rough at the anchorage so I hope I can make it down the launch without any accident.
But I remember Argo Pallas, we were kicked off the buoy due to bad weather and we got a chance to go ashorefor some good time. Beer and a night at hotel and they ask me if I think I can make it down the service boat. - It is pretty rough sea! - HEY!! I will make it even if I'm going to die!
According to the Superintendent it is about 1 hour with the launch and I expect to be in my hotel room around 8 o'clock tonight.
