Sunday 3 rd
of August 2025
and we are leaving Ocean Bay Hotel & Resort at 11 o'clock and I start my eBird app in Pirang Forest NP at 12:04. We started late, but it was nice not to have get out early in the morning.
I had been up since 6 o'clock to have a look at my bird pictures. I had time for breakfast and to check out my new shirts.
They had delivered my shirts that I ordered before we left for the birding tour. And I was very happy with my new shirts.

Anyway, we got out of the car and the first birds I see are three Red-cheeked Cordonbleu on the gravel road. We spotted two Green-backed Camaroptera and I got my first pictures of the Green-backed Camaroptera.
And again, a poor picture of the Yellow-crowned Gonolek. So, I only have two poor pictures of the Yellow-crowned Gonolek, the first one from Senegal.
We move down to the bird hide and the staff bring a wooden bench for us to sit on. The firs bird we see is the African Pygmy Kingfisher, three of them in total. And the African Thrush came to have a bath

We give up after 2 hours and I was happy. We go back to my hotel and they ask if I want to go bird watching tomorrow. I tell them that I will rest tomorrow. But I will contact them if I change my mind.
I spend the rest of the day in my room, drinking tea and eating biscuits while working with my recordings and pictures. I look for birding Guides on internet and I send some e-mails to see if they have any Guides available for tomorrow.
So, no birding tomorrow morning, but I
hope I can find a Guide for tomorrow afternoon. click HERE
to find out if I have any luck finding a birding guide.
