Only the call of this species is described in the literature. Song here is a lazy series of scratchy notes in phrases of up to 6 notes each. Rhythmically similar to African Dusky Flycatcher (e.g.XC344763) by way of shortened 2nd bar of two-phrase repetition, whereby notes are cut short and listener is left hanging.
Differs otherwise in being slower, lower pitched and without the frenetic embellishments of African Dusky Flycatcher.
