and we were disappointed with the last set-back. Well, I had expected us to drive back to Ramnäs Hotell & Konferens for a shower and breakfast. But my Guide had other plans, we were going to “Treöresvägen” to look for the Red-throated Loon and we would have the sun in the back at this time.
We stop to inspect some Wolf pooand it was from last year. We found a second pile of wolf shit and this was less than 2 days old. My Guide had been driving here 2 days ago and then there had been no poo.

We see the Red-throated Loon but it was a little too far away for any good pictures. But it was easy to see that it was a beautiful bird. We drive back to Ramnäs Hotell & Konferens for lunch and a shower. We will meet at 16 thirty to drive to an area where they usually see the Great Grey Owl. The Great Grey Owl is the third biggest owl in Sweden.

There is also a map on my eBird checklist for the Great Grey Owl area, Västmanlands län, click HERE
. Then it should be possible to open the map in your GPS
We are alone when we arrive, my Guide told me that there used to be a lot of people here looking for the owl. And the owl is not scared, have even come up to sit on the binoculars. But we are early, still to light for the owl and we will have to wait.

I keep an eye out for other birds while we wait for the Great Grey Owl. I walk around the area and after 30 minutes there are other cars coming with bird watchers. A French guy and a couple from Holland, all here to see the Great Grey owl.
I was told that there are usually people here to look for the owl. Having picnic and talking with each other while waiting. Well, no luck today, but it was a nice evening talking with other bird watchers. We left the area and I was back at Ramnäs Hotell & Konferens 15 minutes later.
