OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.

Aladdin's adventure flying to Thailand during the Corona Pandemic

Saturday 21 ^th of May 2022 and I was very happy when I left Sweden for Copenhagen Airport. My brother sent a message yesterday, my laptop had arrived, less than 24 hours from Romania. DHL had told me it would arrive on the 23rd. So no need to change my ticket flying back home to wait for the laptop.

I never bought any new lap top but I had I bought new hard discs for 1000 Euro for the new computer. And I will need to send back the hard discs but that was really easy, surprisingly easy to return the discs. Just to print return label from Amazon and it was free to send back with DHL. I saved 1000€ plus 1000€ for a new computer.

Not to talk about everything I would have had lost on my old lap top. Now I had all my documents etc. again and I was very happy.

There was a lot of documents I needed last time I flew to Thailand:

• Tourist Visa (eVisa) Took two days to get
• Thailand Pass - Took 2 days to get via the online application
• AQ Hotel reservation
• Travel Insurance covering Covid
• Negative PCR test
• Flight ticket

This time it was much easier and no need for a long and expensive quarantine. It was very quick to get the required documents.

• Thailand Pass - Took one day to get via the online application
• Travel Insurance covering Covid
• Flight ticket, they asked for a return ticket when applying for the visa

I took the train to Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup International. The train was empty when I boarded the train in Helsingborg but it was full just after a few stations. Seems like there is only one car for luggage, bicycles and strollers so it was very nice when I could get off the train at Kastrup International Airport.

Singapore Airlines check-in was open when I arrived to Terminal 3. It was quite quick to check-in and passing the security was also very smooth. I spent an hour at SAS lounge before I walked all the way to the gate.

Did not take long before I realized that there was a screaming child in the forward BIZ department. A shame that it is allowed to bring children in to BIZ. We pay top dollars to be able to sleep and it was screaming all the time. Of course, this is nothing you can say out loud.

There was a free seat in the smaller BIZ department behind the bathrooms and I took this seat and it was quiet and nice. They were nagging about face masks when we boarded but after that I did not hear about it again. And I think most of the passengers were without face mask.

I had my lunch and then I turned my seat in to a bed and I was soon asleep.

When I woke up there was still a couple of hours to go before arrival so I had tea and cheese for snacks while looking at a pretty boring and way too long James Bond movie. Lasted almost until arrival. We got breakfast before arrival and it was very nice to get off the flight in Singapore.

I have never been very fond of Changi International Airport, well, I really don't like the airport. No place to have breakfast, no Singapore Airline lounge.

“Then you could as well have the lounge in Kuala Lumpur!”

I had to wait for about 2 and a half hours for flight SQ 708 to Bangkok and it was terrible. I was really regretting having given up my gold status with Thai Airways to change to be a frequent flyer with Singapore Airlines.

But it was sad last time I used Thai, not much remaining to remind of this once a good airline. But I still have a return business class ticket to Copenhagen that they cancelled for me two years ago.

I was very tired and I tried to sleep on the flight to Bangkok, not easy in the worst business class seat in the industry. And the Stewardess woke me up for breakfast. Seriously, waking up someone sleeping on an airplane knowing how hard it is to fall asleep on board.

And on top of this, I was sitting in the first row and my choice for breakfast was finished. I was very impressed.

Arriving to Suvarnabhumi and it was almost like normal, just to show the Thailand Pass and then to continue to the Immigration. Now they checked the Thailand Pass again so it took a wee bit longer to get through Immigration. So, it is almost like normal again.

Anyway, we will be busy with the tooth from Faroe Islands and me and my friend will take a trip to Kanchanaburi again to have the monk put some magic power in to the tooth.
