Flying to Bangkok with Thai Airways flight TG 951

Saturday 15 ^th of June 2024 and waking up quarter to 4 o'clock. A bucket of tea killing time until it is time to go for breakfast at 7. Luggage are ready and the taxi come to pick me up at 10 thirty for transportation to Copenhagen International.

I go to the train station at 10 o'clock and I buy some chocolate to bring for the flight, and maybe to have something at home to munch on.

I bring down my bags and the taxi has arrived and we load everything in to the back. One duffel bag filled with tea and one big box containing my Weber® Q 2400 Electric Grill. Will take us about one hour to get to the airport and I will hopefully make it well in time for departure.

I was surprised, yesterday when I took a taxi to the hotel, we had problem loading my luggage in to the taxi, the biggest Volvo. Today, it is a Mercedes and everything went in to the back of the car with room left.

I told the Driver that we have to keep something in the car. He said no problem and there was no problem loading the luggage in the back.
- This car is almost as good as my old Volvo, he said.
- Ha! I had problem yesterday with the biggest Volvo, Volvo V90
- Volvo V90 do not take much luggage, but Volvo V70 has the biggest luggage capacity.

I was in the back and we left Hotel Marina Plaza behind and I pooped open my last refreshment that I bought when I drove to Estonia.

Reaching the highway and we were hauling arse going south towards the bridge to Denmark. Last time we left Marina Plaza Hotel for the airport there had been an accident and we had to leave the highway to find another way. Still make it in time for the departure.

But today, no problems and we were soon at the toll gates to the bridge to Denmark. It will set you back by about 70$ to cross the bridge, 140$ two ways. The taxi is about 170$, if you have a BIZ pass it is 30$ to cross the bridge.

And in the lane next to us, one car started to back expecting all the cars in the queue to back up. We thought it would end in a fight when the driver in the car behind went out. The car in reverse changed his mind and passed the gate.

We cross the bridge and pass under the tunnel and we are at the airport coming out from the tunnel. And when it is time to get out of the car it is like hitting a wall. It is cold and strong wind and it will be nice to leave this weather behind.

I find the check-in to Thai Airways flight TG 951, there is a lot of people, but only two ahead of me to Royal Silk. I step up to the check-in desk and I hand over my passport.

The manager come to me and she tell me that I cannot use the passport due to the luggage tags on the back cover. I have to go to get a temporary passport in Sweden if I want to come on this flight. I was not happy!

Very angry, they put the tags on the passport when you check-in so what is the problem.

Buying a MAX at the kiosk and I am looking for a place to sit down. Kastrup is a terrible airport nowhere to sit down and I had to take the elevator to the train station.

One thing is for sure, I will not apply for a temporary passport. I will get a new passport and I was looking to book a time. It will take 6 days. AVIS rent a car at Copenhagen Airport did no have any available cars. So it was only problem and I got angrier by the minute.

- There is nothing wrong with my passport!

As soon as I mentioned that I had been a gold member in Thai Airways for at least 15 years and business class she stepped back.
- Oh! Your passport looks nice. I was so worried that it would break so you would get in to trouble.
- They put the luggage tags there when checking-in!
- I can guarantee you that I never do this.

It does really not matter what she is doing when they do different in the rest of the world.

After having checked-in and I was really happy, endless problem if I could not have got on the flight. And thousands of dollars down the drain.

I am ready to board the plane

I buy three bottles of refreshments that I can enjoy on the flight. Security after check-in so I can buy liquid after the security check. Some airports have the security at the gate and then it is not possible to bring any drinks onboard.

There is a long line to the boarding but at the second boarding door there is not many people and I am soon in the departure area. Royal Silk have started boarding so I walk straight onboard.

Finding my seat, aisle, so this was a little setback. But it is full and thanks to the manager I could not get a window seat as my check-in was delayed by almost two hours.

Departure, scheduled for 14:25 and there was no sign of any departure. 14:50 and still no pull back from the jet bridge. Well, I did not mind, the later the better as it willhopefully be easier to sleep.

And it would have been a different story sitting in the back, but I was comfortable and I ha dmy refreshments, I was in no hyrry anywhere.

15:25, one hour late and we were pulled from the jet bridge. Take off and I had some tea waiting for the dinner. And I will try to sleep after the dinner, but I guess it will be hard.

Full flight so I only got one extra pillow, otherwise I ask for two or three extra pillows to “cozy” up the seat a notch or two.

It was not easy to fall asleep, and when I finally fall asleep I slept for 4 hours. Waking up and I was soon falling asleep again, this time for 90 minutes.

Sunday 16 ^th of June 2024 and I started the day by pooping open a MAX, 4 o'clock and I could not sleep anymore. I turned on a disappointment for a movie and I did not bother to start a second movie. Breakfast, was very nice and I had a couple of more cups of tea.

Movies, I am too old to watch movies. And seriously, when was the last time you watched a good movie? Get Shorty, must have been the last movie I watched that I enjoyed from beginning to end without fast forwarding.

So, I was killing time looking out in the blue and I was happy when we started to descent to Bangkok International, Suvarnabhumi.

And now there is a new source of unrest arriving to Suvarnabhumi. Landing and you see the new terminal. Are we turning towards the new terminal or the old terminal?

Immigration was done in a minute and I get out at the luggage belt, no need to trot around. My Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill is coming on the belt, after a lot of waiting. 5 bags came and then we had to wait for 10 minutes for the rest of the baggage.

The box with my Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill ended up on my luggage cart. Two bags to go and suddenly it was the LAST BAG and no sign of my two bags. This cannot be true! Losing one bag going to Copenhagen and two bags missing going back to Bangkok.

And I was not alone, at least 10 other passengers were missing the luggage. We were told it would arrive tomorrow morning. There had been some technical difficulties back in Copenhagen.

One month since they lost my suitcase going to Copenhagen, and still not any words from Thai Airways.

Well, it was kind of nice to come back home with only my Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill, no need to start sorting out my stuff. I just left the box in my room and I went down to my scooter.

Milk is needed for my tea and I took off to buy some milk at 7 Eleven. I went to my friend to drop of some stuff from Sweden. He was busy and he will come to my room at 12 o'clock.

Back home and I ripped open the box with my Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill. I have filled the space in the box with vitamins so there was some arrangement to be done with the things.

I need to buy a table for my new Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill so I can keep it on my balcony. And I need a new power plug and I hopeI can find everything at HomePro.

I went to pick up my friend and we drove to HomePro and we found everything we needed.

We walked to Tops Market to buy some meat to try out the new grill. We started with somepastries and tea at S & P next to the Tops Market. We have not been there for a long time and we had missed the place.

We had some corn filled pastries, sounds terrible, but they are very good. We also had some pineapple filled pastries and we were full when we left.

Coming to Tops Market and they had some Rib Eye Steak, I never buy beef, well, not often.Expensive and I don't like it very much. Pork Collars is a success every time.

But I bought the Rib Eye and they came to take pictures of us. They told me it was some promotion or something.

We walk back home and I prepare the Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill with the new plug. We will wait for a while before firing up the grill as we just have had our tea and S & P.

I turned on the grill and I made a mistake, I did not wait for the grill to be hot before I put on the meat. And it took a long time for the grill to become hot, the kettle was whistling but the grill was still cold.

Luckily enough, I discover that I had pushed to on the fuse box. There is an EARTH BREAKER box and when I turned on the grill it became hot quite quickly.

Making a mental note about the fuse box, my luggage is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so next time it will be Swedish sausages on the grill.

My friend got the first beef and my beef was ready soon after. Well, it is OK, but Pork Collar is better. We will make sausages next time, but after that it will be Pork Collar only. The best meat you can buy for money.

OK, the best meat I have ever had was Kobe Steak in Tokyo and it set me back by 800$, but it was beef that you could eat by spoon. And there was not much of it.

But we were happy with the beef and the Weber Q 2400 Electric Grill was working well.

Monday 17 ^th of June 2024 and as I woke up late, I did not leave for my session with ปีศาจแดง ก.กุมานนท์, The Red Devil at Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym until after 8 o'clock.

I arrived 5 minutes past 9 o'clock and it will be nice to get some exercise again. I usually do 6 rounds with the pads and 4 rounds of clinching.

My Yoga Teacher is out of town and she will not be back until 28 of June.

I cancelled the last round of clinching, I was exhausted and I will need a few days before being back in shape. Well, in some kind of shape.

Coming back home and they have delivered my missing luggage so now I have Swedish Sausages for my new grill. And we will try them tomorrow.

Tuesday 18 ^th of June 2024 and I am off to Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym and my session with ปีศาจแดง ก.กุมานนท์, The Red Devil. We will do 4 rounds of clinching today.

Takes me about an hour to get to Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym and we are soon getting started.

It was a good session, but I still need a couple of more days, still very tired. Of course, after one month in Europe sitting in a car that did nothing good for my condition.

I will need to skip Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym as I have some business to attend to in Bangkok. But I did Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. And my condition is improving by the day.

Now I do 4 rounds of clinching every day at the Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym, well, except for Sundays when it is closed.

Thursday 20 ^th of June 2024 and I took the sky train to Bangkok, leaving my room 10 o\clock and I was sitting at the Bangkok Bank office on Sukhumvit Soi 8 one hour later.

Having a foot massage and I visited my condo before taking the train back home to Samut Prakan. Lunch in my room before I took off to wash my scooter at my friend's house. I have been away for a month and there is a lot of dust on the scooter.

Upcoming weekend I will try to get away on Sunday morning for some bird watching. I hope the weather is good as the rainy seasson have started and there have been some showers and thunder.
