Saturday 18 th
of December 2010
and, well, I woke up with a slight hangover. I discovered two
bottles of choco milk in the fridge so obviously I had made
a stop at 7 Eleven on the way home this very morning.
My friend called and asked if I wanted to go for dinner.
- I'm at Ratchada visiting a friend so I will come pick you up around 6.
He wanted to eat at Govinda so I told him that it was not necessary to pick me up.
- I will be at New Cowboy Restaurant on Soi 22 so we can meet there. It is close to Govindas.
I had planned to go see two guys at New Cowboy Restaurant
at Soi 22. I told them that I would be there in 20 minutes, but it took me almost 1 hour to get there. The traffic was at a full stop and it took me 40 minutes to reach Sukhumvit and from there the traffic moved a wee bit more.
Arriving to New Cowboy Restaurant and I asked who was cooking first thing.
- Tia
Tia makes the best beef in oyster sauce so I ordered a beef in oyster sauce.
- No mushroom? And a bowl of rice.
- You remember! Impressive. And a San Miguel Light,
on the double.
San Miguel Light in Thailand is nothing even close to the San Miguel Light you get in Manila so I asked for a wine glass and ice for my beer.
I had time for 4 San Miguel Lights before my friend arrived. I had one more before we took off to Govinda for more beers. I had 2 avocado salads and my friends had pizza and spaghetti.
My friend had taken a few pictures at the party yesterday and he showed me the pictures. I was not impressed by the quality.
- What the
this can be anyone!
- No, it's you!
I told them the story when I had been in Taipei. I came in to a bar and I ordered a beer. The bartender gave me a beer and a glass of water.
- Water!
It was good music and I started to talk with the bartender.
- You have pretty good music at this place.
- What's the name of the place?
- What time are you closing?
I saw a DJ so I asked if they were throwing a
disco later on in the evening. Yes, I pretty much asked about everything and the only answer I got was that the bartender put his
mobile phone in front of me.
Obviously I had been at the place the day before.
Well, the Taiwanese bartender and I got a good laugh out of it.
Well, while eating at Govinda my friend kept himself busy showing me a the pictures from yesterdays party, but the quality left a lot to wish for so I won't bother putting them on my web page.
We finished our dinner and we took off to Khaosan Road. My friend is only drinking water so he drove and I was in charge for the music. We made a quick stop at 7 Eleven at Siam Square for a few beers. I bought a bottle of water to my friend and 3 beers for me and Miss Bee.
Coming out from 7 Eleven I ran in to a girl.
- Do you recognize me? She asked.
- No!
- I meet you at SLIM, you gave me your name card.
- So what's my name?
- I will go home and check out your name card.
Arriving to Khaosan and it took us quite a while to find a parking place. Yet another reason why I prefer to go by taxi.
We started by drinking beer but a bottle of vodka would be better. SO I ordered a bottle of vodka with orange juice. They brought
the vodka and ice but no orange juice.
- We don't have bottles of orange juice.
- What the
- We can bring you glasses of orange juice!
- OK
So they brought the orange juice in glasses and when they were out of orange juice we gave the rest of the vodka to the girls sitting next to us and we left for another place.
Khaosan Road, I have not been there since Songkran back in April and I discovered plenty new clubs.
SUZI's or whatever the name was had changed name and I think it was renamed to 99 something. Well, I have no clue what time it was when I returned home. 
And my friend sent me pictures he took when I was going to the bath room at Khaosan Road. I was
about to piss myself and I was desperate. They told us that there was a bathroom just “around the corner.” Of course, I got stuck in the gate, impossible to get in.
Well, I must have had a few beer too many, because when I received the pictures I discovered that there was a slot to put coins in order to open the gate.
I took a taxi to Robinsons at Ratchadapisek. I arrived 15 minutes early and I bought a milkshake
while waiting for my friend. I was walking around at Robinsons when I ran in to Miss Bee. My friend and his mom was eating at
S&P so we went there to meet
them. I ordered spaghetti and a milk shake.
The milkshake was OK, but I discovered mushroom in the spaghettis so I left it behind. We finished our lunch and we took off towards the SAFARI WORLD. I had no clue where it was, I had not even heard about the place.
My friend had been there a few years ago and he had forgotten how to get to the place. Well, no problem, we will do our best to find the place. We plunged down Ratchadapisek hoping for the best.
My friend's mom asked if I was sitting comfortable when we were half way down Ratchadapisek. I
told her that I was OK.
- No, it doesn't look comfortable
- No problem!
- You can take back your seat so you get more space for your legs.
- Ah, it's OK.
Well, I was not trusted to adjust the seat myself after our trip to Khaosan Road yesterday evening with me pushing all the buttons. So we stopped and my friend jumped out of the car and he dashed over to my side to adjust the seat.
We didn't have a clue where we were.
It took us quite some time before we saw a sign saying Ram Intra and we were on the right way. We were too late
for the dolphin show, but safari was good enough for me.
We bought the tickets and we entered the safari, I had expected to find a shop so I could buy a bottle of
water or two. No shop and I really wanted something to drink, my hangover might have been alleviated if I could get something to drink. Well, I have to wait until we're ready with the safari.
Birds, there were millions of birds everywhere. Zebras
was the first animal we saw after all the birds. Pink Marabou Storks and some other big birds that I have forgotten the
name off. Ostriches, bigger than the zebras were running around at the gate when we entered the place.
Rhinos and camels (or dromedary) was the next excitements
we were running in to. We passed giraffes and thousands of different deer's before we came to the bears. I think it was the Canadian
black bears that was fighting with each others, but the other bears was just lying around doing pretty much nothing.
We came to and electric gate with about 1000 signs with “STAY IN THE CAR”, “DANGEROUS ANIMAL AREA” and “KEEP WINDOWS CLOSED”. The gate opened and closed behind
us, and then we had to drive to the next gate 50 meters away.
When we were inside the double gated area it didn't took long before we saw some lions lying around in the sun. Well, would have been a wee bit more exciting if there would have been an antilop or something for the lions to chase.
We drove on and we were soon passing a group of tigers lying around in the sun. Well, we passed two gates and we had Tigerland behind us.
After Tigerland there were a few buffaloes and then we were out from the SAFARI WORLD.
- 7 ELEVEN FOR DRINKS!
We stopped at 7 Eleven and then we took off towards Lang Suan. We had decided to go eat dinner at Lang Suan, yes, the very same Italian restaurant I had my lunch last Monday. I was impressed by the salmon/ avocado sandwich, and the salmon pizza was not bad.
Going from SAFARI WORLD was no problem, just to get up on the highway and we were on Sukhumvit before soon. My friend's mom
was in the back hitting my friend with her stick every time he was up to no good. I was laughing asking her to hit him again so I could get a picture.
Suddenly she hit me as well.
- What did I do?
- Nothing, but you will soon be up to no good as well.
Well, better off bringing a helmet next time. When we turned down on Lang Suan from Ploen Chit we discovered that Ploen Chit was closed from Lang Suan towards the Ratchaprasong intersection, famous from the red shirt protests back in April & may. Now the Red shirt has a meeting again.
Well, the Italian restaurant was closed, not opening until 6 o'clock and we didn't want to wait for 45 minutes. So we decided to try the night market.
- There are several restaurants, my friend said.
Coming to the night market and it looked like they were about to tear down the whole place. I suggested Big Mammas at Soi 19, they have a very nice cheese and salmon toast on the menu.

I skipped morning class after half time, I just didn't have any energy so I went home to take a rest so I can attend afternoon class. Coming back to school and I stopped at the tile shop. They will come home to me tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock to measure my bath room.
My French class mate came in to the shop while I was there so we left for class together. We were alone in class today and I was alone after the break. Well, sounds good to be alone in class, but I'm more concentrated when there are few students in class.
My visa expires on Friday so I went to my travel agent after school to buy a plane ticket out of here. I will go to Phnom Penh for 4 days to make a new visa.
I and my French class mate have decided to go for party once a week ONLY from now on and it's nice to be back in the old routines. My evening constitutional and I hope we can start the squash when I'm back from Phnom Penh.
They measured my bath room and they finished in 45 minutes. Now they will design my bath room and the will hopefully
be ready with this next week.
Now I wanted to go to school, but I had the wait for the Service man from True. My internet is at least to say been slow. He arrived 1 hour later and he finished quarter to 12 and my internet was working as it should.
The internet has been pretty slow since day one and now I hope it will gain some speed.

We have to take off our shoes in the class room and when I came in my class mates and Teacher reacted pretty much the same way as they always do.
- Where do you buy your socks??!!
We continued write from our Teacher's dictation.
Today it was low class and high class consonants mixed. Darn, impossible to hear the
difference and to know if I should use a high or low class t, s, h or ch etc. We had to beg for a break so we could go buy something to drink.
It was so nice when we finally finished class at 12 o'clock. Now I have one hour for lunch at home before my afternoon class starts at 1 o'clock. In the elevator, we're coming from the 12th floor and
on the 10th floor, I swear to God, it must have been the
most beautiful girl in the world coming in to the elevator. Yes, I even walked a different way back home for my lunch just to see where she went. But she was a goner and I never saw her.Hopefully in the afternoon!
Back home I only had tea and a carrot for lunch. I'm better off
looking as good as possible from now on. I never know when I'm going to run in to the girl again so my diet is TOP 
PRIORITY!
Afternoon class and it's speaking and listening with my French friends. My friend found it so interesting so he asked for a break so he could go
to 7 Eleven at the corner to buy a notebook.
We took the 1 and a half minutes' walk to7 Eleven and I bought a diet drink while my friend was looking for a notebook. Well, he bought a
Coke and a KIT KAT as well and we left the 7 Eleven for school.
We finished class at 4 o'clock and I walked back home where I made myself some tea and I had
the tea with a can of tuna and a can of corn.
I have not had my “ TUNA SURPRISE ” ® for a few days by now. I just mix the tuna and corn on the plate, I really haven't had the time to buy onion for a few days and I only have tuna and corn in my larder.
But I was off to TOPS when I had finished my afternoon tea. I bought plenty carrots (Australian, of course) and onion. I bought tuna for 2000 Baht and
this willhopefully lastme for a month. I'm down from 4 to 3 cans of tuna per day now. Well, at least fromtoday, only carrot for lunch since I ran in to the gorgeous girl in the elevator.
I had my third and last can of tuna and corn (Now I mixed it with one of my newly purchased onions) for the day when I came back home from my 2 hours evening constitutional
to Ekkamai. This is the can I will try to skip from now on and thus keep my daily ratio to 2 cans of tuna and 2 cans of corn and plenty carrots.

I'm leaving with Thai Airways in the evening for Phnom Penh. I willhopefully be back on Monday with a new VISA lasting me
for the rest of the winter. The news from Sweden doesen't
make me wanna go back to Europe anytime soon. Record breaking cold and snow.
Malmö and 14 °C BELOW zero and I'm way better off enjoying myself here in Thailand
munching on my carrots. At least for a few months more.
And thanks to my tuna and carrots I will fly in coach to Phnom Penh. Yes, a lot of money to save when on diet. No money spent on food and I don't have to fly in business. Well, the flight to Phnom Penh is a very short one so why waste 10000 Baht flying in biz?
Well, and no chance for the cake cart on monkey class so that's an added value, at least when
you're on diet. Well, I'm out of here and you just have to click to be in Phnom Penh
a lot faster than it will take me. And of course, you can do it from the comfort in your favourite chair at home.

Tuesday 21 st

and they came to measure my bath room quarter to 9. They were earlier than expected, a good sign. Some of the people coming here to decorate my condo had been everything from 30 minutes to 5 hours late.They measured my bath room and they finished in 45 minutes. Now they will design my bath room and the will hopefully

Never mind, no school until 5th of January 2011 and the only thing I have todo today is to pack my bag and get to the airport.I'm leaving with Thai Airways in the evening for Phnom Penh. I will
