Tuesday 29thof November 2016and we left Sukhumvit Soi 23 behind just after 6 o'clock in the morning. I was in the back enjoying a bottle of Pepsi MAX and I was looking forward to some birding at Moo Ban Pramong.
I had prepared a birding map for Moo Ban Pramong and I will update it when I come back here a second time. I will have to be home around lunch as they will bring back my curtains that havebeen away for cleaning. And I will go for a MRI scanning of my knee tonight, so it will only be a quick look for spoonbills and Kingfishers today. So come back here to www.aladdin.st in January and I will have up dated the map with more information.
We drove past Krua Baan Pramong but I didn't see any of the Collared Kingfishers. We continued to the end of the road and we turned around driving back up past the Krua Baan Pramong. We continued to drive along the road towards the Dolphin Viewing Point. We had water filled fields with Egrets and Little Cormorants on our left hand side.
On the right hand side we had buildings between the road and the creek. On this side I saw so many Kingfishers that I had never seen before.

We stop and I try to come close to a Black-capped Kingfisher
We are driving around in the car and we can come close to the birds. As soon as I try to get out of the car the birds fly away. Great Myna, there are plenty of them. They are also called White-vented Mynas. I have put the bird down as Great Myna.
We had seen many Kingfishers, 3 different kinds. My driver is really a big help. Before he never saw any birds but this time he was spotting birds like never before. Now I only hope to see a Stork-billed Kingfisher and some spoon bill.

We came down to a national park or something. It was the end of the road. I got out of the car and I walked back and I told the driver to come after me in 20 minutes. Coming down here and we approached a Black-capped Kingfisher. It was the driver that discovered the bird.
We approached slowly and we were very close when we stopped. As soon as we stopped the Black-capped Kingfisher flew away. When he picked me up we drove back and we stopped at a tree, 2 meter away and there was another Black-capped Kingfisher that my driver spotted. I didn't saw the Kingfisher until it flew away.
we crossed the creek and we were drove through some water filled paddies. I was hoping t see some spoon bills here, but I never saw any. Here was a lot of shore birds but they took off as soon as I got out of the car.

Road to the Mangrove bird watching area
End of the road and we have reached the Mangrove bird watching area
The mangrove bird watching area and dolphin exhibition
We park the car and we get out on the walking bridge through the mangrove. There is an exhibition about dolphins at the beginning of the walking bridge. But it looked to have been closed for a very long time.
There were watch towers along the walking bridge so we could climb up to have a look around. We never saw any birds in the mangrove and when we were ready here we decided to drive back slowly to Bangkok keeping an eye out for birds on the way.

Time to return to Bangkok and we drove slowly and I kept my eyes out for Kingfishers while we drove along. We rolled by a Black-capped Kingfisher and I told the driver to stop. He was sitting just one meter away from the road side on a wood frame looking for fish. The driver put the taxi in reverse and we rolled back. DARN! The Kingfisher took off just as I was about to take the picture. Well, now I know where to find the, the only disappointment have been the Stork-billed Kingfisher and the Spoonbill. But in January...
We made a few stops on the way to take pictures of Kingfishers, they are everywhere and I will be back in January. We had a pleasant drive to Bangkok and I was back home around 12 and they were waiting for me with the curtains.

New curtains and I left for the MRI scanning, my appointment was at 7. But as you never know about the traffic here I left at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I had been at the Doctor yesterday and he booked a time for a MRI scanning at Rachvipa MRI Center
I arrived 20 minutes before 6 and they told me to go kill time at a restaurant, Burger King. For sure not doing my knee any good. I was back in time for my MRI thing. It was more than 9 o'clock when I could finally return home with my pictures. Tomorrow morning, back to see the Doctor at Camillian Hospital at Thong Lor and I will have to bring my pictures.
