Well, the flag of Skåne, just a BONUS flag.
Friday 13thof December 2024and my alarm goes off a couple of minutes after 4 o'clock in the morning. My Driver will be here to pick me up at 6 o'clock.
5 minutes to the airport so this will give me plenty time to reach my Bahamasair flight UP 316 that departs at 07:45.
I enjoy my tea and cheese before packing my bags and I am outside Castaways Resort and Suites waiting for my driver. My car arrives a couple of minutes after 6 o'clock and we are soon on our way to Grand Bahama International Airport.
The flight to Lynden Pindling International Airport, Nassau International Airport will take me about 25 minutes. That is OK, actually, all flight should be 25 minutes long.

Checking-in, all over the world, but I have never experienced something like this before. My check-in was very quick, but the people in front of me, I do not know, maybe the people in front of me had not bothered to prepare their documents.
It took a very long time, people were struggling with the luggage, passports and documents. I checked-in to flight UP 316 and I went to the security. Security was quickly done as I was alone.

I get a message from the hotel in Nassau, they offer to come to pick me up at Lynden Pindling International Airport, Nassau International Airport. They will wait for me outside the arrival hall.
I told him that no need to wait for me, I send a message when I arrive and I can wait for them. And I was soon to send another message. We are delayed, no sign off any boarding to start.
It was after departure time when we started boarding and we had to walk out to the airplane waiting for us on the tarmac.

Getting onboard Bahamasair flight UP 316, I had asked if the flight was full at check-in. It was almost full, but it is 25 minutes flight only.
I took my aisle seat in row 7. Soon one girl came to have her seat. I squeezed myself out of the seat, turned out that she was in row 6.
Soon time to squeeze myself out of the seat again. This time, again, how hard can it be to know your row number. This time they should be in row 8, not in my row.
Boarding completed message and I had three seats for myself and I moved over to the window.

We are taking off
Grand Bahama Island disappears under the clouds behind us. I gave up any hopes to get a good look on Nassau on the island New Providence. Overcast so I could only see clouds.
I was flipping through the inflight magazine and we were soon descending to Nassau.
We were very low when we came out from the clouds so no good overview of New Providence. But good enough to make me surprised, on the map it looks like the island is covered by the city of Nassau. But this was obviously wrong.
There was a lot of green areas so we have enough areas to go bird watching with Bahamas Outdoor tomorrow and I was getting excited.
Coming out of the clouds
Approaching Lynden Pindling International Airport, Nassau International Airport
Coming out of the clouds and I could see New Providence, not to far away. Gloom and grey for long as I could see so I did not get any good view until we flew over the beach going in to land at Lynden Pindling International Airport.
We bounced down the runway landing and I was relieved when we were finally taxi to the terminal building. I could not see any jet bridges and I suspected that we will have to walk over the tarmac.
Good, I can have some exciting pictures. But I forgot my camera in Bangkok so I only have mu mobile phone, and the quality leaves a lot to wish for.

Waiting for my luggage
Took 5 minutes or so to walk to the luggage claim area. 10 minutes or so later and I had my luggage. I sent a message to the hotel owner that I was outside the arrival hall. No waiting area here so he had to wait at the waiting area, one minute away.
My host was very pleasant and he offered to drive me to the shopping mall to look for shirts and to buy milk and stuff that I will need for my tea.
He told me that it was 50$ with a taxi to the city. And he told me that I could give him a few dollars for the gasoline. He will also bring me to the airport on Sunday morning when I leave for Panama City.
We started by going to my room to drop my luggage and we decided to leave in 1 and a half hours. I needed to drink tea and some relaxation in my room before we take off.
The room, a pool house next to my host house and now I understand why noone knew the Sea Shell “hotel” On Grand Bahama Island the Surveyor asked where I was going to stay. - At Sea Shells, I answered thinking it was the name of the hotel - Sea Shell? Where is that? - Close to the airport - NAH! I DO NOT LIKE THIS! This is a no good area!
Well, the room was decorated with sea shells and this is why they have named it Sea Shells. I liked the room and there was everything I would need during my stay.

we left for the shopping mall at 11 o'clock and my Host called one of the shops to see if they had “manly” sized shirts. Well, they had, but not big enough for me and I left to check out the other shops in the mall.
I had been in all the shops and I walk back towards the parking when I pass a ONE DOLLAR + store and I see a Pepsi fridge. I go inside and they have DIET Pepsi.
Plenty people in line to pay and I end up chatting with a fuy that let me past in front of him. He suggested a hunting shop just outside the entrance, they should have manly sizes.
Diet Drinks
I check out the hunting shop, they do not have any big shirts, but he suggested a shop called S.P. Moses and my Host took me there. I bought 4 shirts, long sleeve and mu host brought me to a tailor he called.
He is not in the shop, but we can bring the shirts to his house and give them t his wife. My Host will pick them up in the evening, I have never experienced a service like this before.
We stopped at the supermarket on the way back to the house. I made tea and I had two full slabbs of babyback ribs that I had bought in the Supermarket Deli.
Bahamas Outdoors will come to pick me up tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to the birding, just clickHEREto find out if I see any birds.
