Friday 1 st of May 2015 and it is the May Day or the Labour Day. But this was not my first
May Day

thought when they called me at 4 o'clock in the morning.
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st- 30 minutes until the tug arrives
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st- OK, I'm coming

OK, it was not bad, it was not too difficult to get out of bed. In to my room and the desk where I poured me a glass of Diet MAX . I had loaded my new Swedish SIM card and I could use the internet as we were well up River Humber. I paid a bill and up loaded a video from UKIP.
May Day/ Labour Day
They called me 10 minutes after 4 again.
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st- The tug is approaching
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st- You said 30 minutes 10 minutes ago!

I had the quickest shower ever and I was on the bridge a few minutes later and I could see the tug boats waiting for us a wee bit further up River Humber. It was the break of dawn and looked like it could be a beautiful day.

But no signs of any May Day/ Labour Day parades and demonstration is sight. Well, I guess this is somethingYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stthat belongs to the past.

20 years ago, or was it more? Well, anyway, 1st of May was a holiday and all the workers were demonstrating in every village and town in Sweden.Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stLong procession of demonstrators waving red flags and placards demanding solidarity and longer holidays. But now a days there are no workers left to form a procession of demonstrators.

Labour Day

It was almost full day light when we arrived to jetty #1 at Immingham Oil Terminal. First line ashore at 05:36 and as soon as we had all fast I went down to my office. And I didn't had to waitAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskfor long before the Surveyor and Loading Master came on board.

We did the paper work, sampling and ullageing and we were ready to start the discharging at 08:40. Now we just have to wait for the terminal to be ready. I had asked them to give us 30 minutes notice so we could start the IG plant. 9 thirty and we got the 30 minutes notice, but we didn't start to discharge until 10 thirty.

And we had to top off the tanks ONE BY ONE until 95% alarms were deactivated and then we had a line displacement, several thousand cubic metres and my rest hours were red before weAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskcompleted the line displacement. This was just before 3 o'clock and we resumed discharging around 20 minutes later.

Waiting is for sure boring, but I managed to get some paper work done. Our AB that was going home was happy.

He was not allowed to sign off in Schengen as his visa had expired. UK is not a member of Schengen and they let him ashore here so he could fly home. But he had to fly via Kuala Lumpur as he was not alowed to change flight in Frankfurt or Amsterdam. I was happy for him, he is getting married and he was about to miss hisNo to EUwedding due to his expired Schengen visa.

He was not allowed to sign off in Denmark or in Sweden, hell, he is working so of course they don't want him. Sweden only welcome illiterates, jihad warriors, beggars and no hopers.

Here we have a guy signing off and he would have generated money for the companies in Sweden that had taken care of his trip home. And on top of that there would have been some tax dollars
No to EUcoming the governments way. But no! They only want gypsy beggars that pissing and shitting along the side walks while harassing people.

People seeking to suffer martyrdom, no worries, the doors are wide open. Yeah, Sweden is a failed state. Health care and educational system that have collapsed and are in free fall.

NO GO areas where the police can't keep law and order. By now Sweden is looking like Middle East, Somalia and Libya, yes, a failed state. A lawless country, of course, not for law abiding and tax paying citizens, they have a heavy burden to carry on their shoulders taking care of all these people coming here.

As you understand someone have to pay for all this, and why not. Take the pensioners, they can live in poverty after having worked a whole life paying tax building up what was once one of theSwedish shanty towngreatest nations. Health care, well, it is more important to waste the money on all the people coming here.

They really tried to make us feel guilty for WELCOMING all these people to Sweden. They were telling us that we were guilty of brain draining the Middle East and Africa from all their greatest minds and most educated people. They mentioned Doctors and I don't know what. Yea, brain washing is the correct term for what they try to do. And as no surprise, it turns out that most of the people coming here are illiterate and will never find a job and thus will have to live on benefits from the Swedish tax payers for the rest of their life.

The capital of Sweden 2015

Welcome to Sweden! The tax payers can pay for all the people in the world to come here. OK, they waste some money on the educational system, yes, wasting! 17 years old that don't know how to tell the time or how to subtract 4 from 3,2. This is what have become of Sweden.

Well, anyway, the AB was happy that he could sign off here in Immingham to get home to hisYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stwedding. And before he left he came to disturb me with a hug. Our 2nd Officer was disappointed as there was no hug for him.

He left us at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and I was not envying him for the flight. I have been on the Malaysia Airways flight from London to Kuala Lumpur some years ago. It is a long flight, but I was lucky and the plane was almost empty.

We resumed discharging after the line displacement and I was soon back in my cabin. I had just closed the door and poured a glass of Diet MAX from my very last bottle when it knocked on myAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskdoor. It was our Cadets and they were back from Grimsby.

I had asked them to keep an eye out for Diet MAX and juice for my e-cig. And they didn't disappoint. They brought back 10 litres of Diet MAX and 20 bottles of juice for my e-cig.

So now I will manage for a while. I cannot see any upcoming problems with the juice, but the Diet MAX won't last us until Africa. But well, this is my last Diet MAX and then I will give up. Seriously, water and tea is better.

Me stop using 7 Eleven in Thailand is the best thing ever, before I always “popped” by for a Diet MAX and some coffinYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stnails. Now I cannot remember the last time I bought a Diet MAX in Bangkok

I tried the new juice and I discovered that they had bought the “STRONG” juice 18mg/ml instead of the medium or low asAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe MaerskI had asked for. I'm down to 12mg/ml now and my next step, and the last step is 6mg/ml.

OK, 18 is better than nothing and it is weak comparing to the juice I bought at Robinsons in Manila. 28mg/mland BAM! I was on the floor after the first puff.

I went down to the CCR at 9 o'clock in the evening to assist our new 2nd Officer to strip cargo tanks #6. I brought two bottles of Diet MAX with me and I had soon poured myself a glass of Diet MAX .

The residual fuel oil have a pour point of 36°C and it was like stripping chewing gum. I went back to my cabin 90 minutes later and I will soon go down to join him whenYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stcargo tanks #1 are to be empty. Then I will hopefullyYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stbe able to go to bed. I have been up and about since 4 o'clock in the morning. And I hope I can have a full night sleep without any interruptions. I haven't had a long sleep since I joined the ship in Canada almost 2 months ago and I really need it.

Saturday 2 nd of May 2015
and it was nice with a full night's sleep and I didn't woke up until 9 thirty.. Lucky or unlucky, there will for sure be no Saturday night dinner tonight as we will be busyAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskwith the cargo documentation by then as we expect to be ready with the discharging by then.

High viscosity cargo and it was hard to pump, and stripping took a wee bit longer than expected and we were not ready until 6 minutes past 6 o'clock in the evening.

We had already changed our Pilot from 17 thirty to midnight. We can only leave during slack water so we will wait for a few hours before weleave. I was in my cabin trying to sleep, but I failed to do so.

Sunday 3 rd of May 2015
and last line was off jetty 1 at Immingham Oil Terminal @ 00:30 and I was soon back in my cabin. I managed to get about 2 hours of sleep before they called me at 4 thirty. They had just dropped the anchor and I discovered that it was pretty much in the same position that we had been anchored before coming along side.

Monday 4 th of May 2015
and we were still anchored when I came on the bridge in the morning. Black sky and passing showers with strong winds. But the sky turned blue and the sea was like a windmill pond just before I left the bridge at 8.

EXPRESS

We left the anchorage around 16 thirty and we left Immingham and River Humber behind. It was a gorgeous evening and I enjoyed several cups of tea and an “Oatmeal Surprise” while we were steaming East towards Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp. We still don't know where we will load. Maybe early tomorrow morning. But we know we will go to Africa to discharge.

+++++++++++++++
Tuesday 5 th of May 2015
and we were running in to dense for at the end of my morning watch. We got loading orders in the afternoon, load 23,000 MT of FO in Rotterdam.

Well, Rotterdam is the best of these 3 ports. Now we just have to see WHEN we will come alongside to load. Anyway, I got an e-mail reminding me about my SAMSUNG TV.

SAMSUNG

SAMSUNG

Review Man's SAMSUNG campaign are picking up. Well, I was busy to 2 thirty in the afternoon with cargo calculations. So there was not much time to enjoy a quiet Diet MAX before going for my watch atARC fleet - M/V Endurance4 o'clock in the afternoon.

The weather had turned from foggy to sunny, but we had a strong gale force 9 blowing from South.

So that meant head wind for us heading South towards North Hinder and Maas approach. We had several ships coming from NE bound for the English Channel. No one bothered us, at least not until I had to give way for M/V Endurance. M/V Endurance was the give wayARC fleet - M/V Enduranceship but there was no sign of any life on board the ship. For sure not from their bridge.

Dead drunk, or the Officer in chargeYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stbusy smoking Nina Hagen tobacco. He was for sure not attending the bridge.

Yes, there is always the chance to encounter a ship manned with someone with the only qualifications to be cheap. Amazing to put a huge container ship in the hands of someone soAmerican Roll-on Roll-off Carrierreckless. Plunging through North Hinder junction without anyone on the bridge. Imagine if there had been more than one ship wit unmanned bridge in the North Hinder junction. Now imagine if two huge ships like this running in to each other in full speed.

I found out that M/V Endurance is a part of the American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier shipping company. I found an article from the American Maritime Officer and M/V Endurance seems to be the PRIDE of the US merchant fleet.

On May 14 2010, American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier hosted a naming and reflagging ceremony for the M/V Endurance at the Port of Baltimore, formally marking the entry of the ninth ship — and the largest U.S.-flagged commercial roll-on/roll-offAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskvessel — into the company’s fleet.

You can read the article from American Maritime Officer by clicking HERE . The guy that wrote the article so proudly should have been with me here on the bridge for some North Hinder junction adventure. He would forCrap in the pantssure have crapped his pants.

But the time passed quickly at North Hinder and I was soon off my watch. I passed our 2nd engineer's cabin on my way to the galley to see if there was some leftovers from dinner. I had been busy and there had been no time for any “Oatmeal Surprise” on the bridge. I was hungry and I had 6 chicken drum sticks.

I was not happy to discover 3 pieces of chocolate cake left overs in the mess room. And I was VERY UNHAPPY when I left the mess room leaving an empty cake-dish behind. OK, a was a wee bit happy that no one had caught me eating the cake as that would have set me back by 1000 US$

Wednesday 6 th of May 2015
and we were anchored at Maas West anchorage when I came on the bridge dead tired 4 o'clock in the morning. The weather had improved so the crew could paint onAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskthe fo'c's'le.

Coming on the bridge 5 minutes before 4 o'clock in the afternoon and the weather had changed.

The wind had picked up and we had a force 9 to 10 blowing fromYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stSW.

The sea was white of foam and the wind was howling, no it was more like screaming. ItYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.sthad started just before 4 and I could hear the wind start to howl when I was in my cabin playing with my computer drinking Diet MAX .

I could hear ships calling Maas Center on the radio to inform that they were leaving theAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskanchorage choosing to steam against the wind while waiting for the wind to decrease.

One ship had lost their anchor on the port side so the weather was at least to say rough.

Something you expect during theYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stwinter, not in May. And if it is May you expect it to last for a day. But we have had strong wind since we arrived to Immingham.

We had the main engine on 30 minutes STAND-BY just in case something happened. I was on thebridge with Captain when our Chief Engineer arrived. He had his camera hanging from his neck andAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskhe was carrying my safety shoes in his left hand. I was surprised
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st- What theYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st
- I need to take some pictures and send to the company

We have ordered boiler suits and safety shoes and we expect them to be delivered here in Rotterdam on Friday morning.

But we have a problem with the safety shoes. We had 2C. Nøregaard ASdifferent brands in the catalogue from C. Nøregaard AS. Well, Nøregaard have removed the “good” shoes only leaving one option. VortecAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maersksafety shoes.

The Vortec leaves a wee bit to wish for regarding the quality. I have used my shoes for about 15 minutes and they are like the ECCO sandals I bought in Sweden a few years back.
Aladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maersk

The sole is falling apart and I remember first time in the CCR. I was thinking that they kept itYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stvery dirty in the CCR and my office. Second time I used my shoes and I discovered thatYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stall the shit came from my shoes. Of course, charging premium dollars for shoes like this is like stealing.

Of course, if you have a contract with Mærsk selling millions of safety shoes every yearYet another Smiley on www.aladdin.styou really want to keep the contract. So they have to shape up and our Chief Engineer will send the pictures to the purchasing department.

So our Chief Engineer came to the bridge with his camera and my shoes and he got started taking the pictures. And I got started taking pictures of him taking pictures of him.

I still felt bad for having the cake (half of a giant cake) yesterday. And Captain brought cupcakes to the bridge and he passed them to me.
- Nice try! You're really desperate for the 1000 Dollars

He just laughed and I went to mix a “Oatmeal Surprise”. Strong winds and you must keep an eye on the position AT ALL TIME. Things can turn sour in a jiff. And suddenly you start to drag the anchor and it goes quick and you're in more trouble than you care for.

I remember being anchored in hurricane force winds 10 years ago or so. My reliever came to take over the watch on the bridge. I handed over the watch pointing at the radar. There was a ship anchored ahead of us. I turned around to say something to him and 20 seconds later the ship ahead of us was dragging her anchor and she was approaching us quickly, very quickly.

and the wind was gone when I came on the bridge at 4 o'clock in the morning. Gloom and grey for as long I could see though. But the gloom and grey were soon turningAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maerskin to a blue sky and sunshine.

Still no berthing prospect, other than LPM, late PM that is. So we will come alongside today and I really hope we start moving early afternoon. Well, we were still anchored when I came on the bridge at 4 o'clock and no news about the berthing. Our 2nd Officer left the bridge and he was soon up in the forwardAladdin's adventure aboard M/T Romø Mærsk/ Romoe Maersktop mast changing 2 light bulbs.

It was a gorgeous afternoon and I had 2 buckets of tea together with two “Oatmeal Surprises”

When I left the bridge at 8 o'clock we had not received any berthing prospects more than it was changed from LPM to EAM, early AM that is. And I had a power nap in the afternoon preparing myself for the LPM adventure so I will be tired when we're going through the EAM adventure.

But one thing is for sure, you just need to click HERE to find yourself in the middle of the Rotterdam adventure, LPM, EAM or whatever!
