Saturday 19 ^th of August 2017 and I met the off signing Chief Officer and 2nd Officer in the CCR. I knew the 2nd Officer from last time I was on board. One AB left the ship with the same service boat we had come with. He had been on board when I left last time. Otherwise it was all new people. Well, turned out that I knew 2 of the Engineers as well.

Chief and 2nd Officer will sign off tomorrow as we will have a few hours to enjoy each other’s company. I moved in to the Chief Officer's cabin and I was soon to confirm what I had suspected, I had forgot my new 100 US Dollar mouse in Athens. So I had spent 735€ on a camera that I had forgot at Thai Airways lounge on Suvarnabhumi. They had my camera.

I received an e-mail yesterday, almost 6 weeks and hundreds of e-mails after I had forgot the camera. Anyway, checking in to the hotel yesterday and there was an e-mail:
Dear Dear Mr.Aladdin, (Dear 2 times)

We are pleased to inform you that we found your camera , you can contact and pick it at address below

Now you think that I was happy. NO NO NO!!! I was furious! Then it would have been better if I thought someone had stolen the camera. 6 weeks to get a reply, the day after I buy a new camera. I sent them an e-mail telling them how impressive I was with their service:

What to say?

I have been in you lounge many times and it isn’t that big!!! They called from the aircraft when I realized that I had forgot my camera. I also told you that I had forgot the camera in your computer room. 100’s of e-mails without answer and now, almost 6 weeks later you tell me that you have found my camera. I’m in Malaysia and I bought a new camera 735 euro.

Who is going to reimburse me for the 735 euro?

Not even Thai Airway can call this a good service. I used to fly with you all the time, but now only when I must fly with Thai. This cannot be the way to treat your customers. 6 weeks for a simple yes or no if you have found my camera in the computer room

So I bought a new camera, same model, 735 Euro. Who will reimburse this money to me?

Most disappointed with the service, way to go to keep your customers. Is there anyone responsible in the company?

Anyway, we had both lunch and dinner and I was reminded about my diet bet. After a kind of successful diet on board Rosa Mærsk it might be time to put up the diet bet tomorrow. Soon time to swim with the humpbacks and I need to be fit or I might be mistaken for a whale.

Sunday 20 ^th of August 2017 and we had all fast at the VLCC at 08:36. STS operation at Sundai Linggi and we will load, well, we have requested 165 000 Bbls but they will only give us about 140 000 Bbls. So there will not be any trouble with the draft, maximum draft 8,5 meter in Tuban.

Off signing Chief Officer did the paper work with the Loading Master and Surveyor and I took over so he could go to have a shower. The boat will pick him and the 2nd Officer at 13 thirty.

We started to load just before lunch time, and as I have not yet put up my diet bet on the bulkhead I was having lunch, but it was the quickest of lunches. We expect to leave around midnight and then we have 3 days to Tuban in Indonesia.

Monday 21 ^st of August 2017 and we had completed loading at 21:48 yesterday evening. Pilot was ordered for 2 o'clock and we will go to drop the anchor as the cargo papers are not ready. We had been busy all night long with paper work and it was kind of nice to get to the bridge for departure. I was tired and I wouldn't mind going for some sleep.

I was in my cabin at 3 o'clock and I put my alarm to go off at 10 o'clock. By the time I was a sleep it was passed 4 thirty in the morning and I was tired when my alarm went off.

But if I sleep longer it will be hard to fall asleep tonight. Anyway, I had the crew to start studying risk assessments after lunch and when we were ready I sent the crew on deck for some work. We have plenty to do. Change FRAMO pipes, preparing for COW and there is no end to it.

Plenty to do and time was passing quickly and suddenly it was time for dinner. And soon it will be “suddenly” and I'm off to Tonga and the Humpback whales.

Tuesday 22 ^nd of August 2017 and we spent the day pressure testing our COW line, will most likely be used when we discharge at Tuban. But I'm happy to be able to write that we had our firstgood morning gymnastics today. Not so happy about that I arranged for some chocolate in the evening. I thought:
- What the? I will put up my diet bet tomorrow. So let's go crazy tonight!

Wednesday 23 ^rd of August 2017 and I put up my diet bet on the wall in the mess room after dinner. So from now on it will be a “strict” diet.

Thursday 24 ^th of August 2017 and we kicked off the day with some good morning gymnastics. First exercise was self spanking while I got the music sorted out. Arrival tonight so we started to prepare for arrival. Checks and tests and I sent in the crew after lunch to have a rest.

I don't know why, but my diet bet always draws some attention and it turn out like a natural meeting point. And this time was not different. People expecting to be millionaires with in soon. But

as I'm going to Tonga I'm dead serious with my diet.

When I booked the trip, almost one year ago it seemed like for ever until it was time. But now it is time and, well, my diet have not been as successful as I had been wishing for. But there is still a month to go.

The crew knocked off after lunch, just Pump man finishing off his FRAMO purging report when I was back in the CCR. Our Cadet and I continued to finish off the pre arrival tests and checks before we finished for the day. Well, not for the day, but for a few hours. We expect to be at Tuban pilot station around 18 hundred.

And as no surprise, I expect it to be a long night tonight before we start discharging our Condensate from Sungai Linggi, Malaysia.

Of course, we had to drop the anchor at arrival. Pilot boarding at 05:00 tomorrow morning, a real dream time. Well, if we're lucky we will be delayed by a few hours.

Friday 25 ^th of August 2017 and they called me a few minutes after 5 o'clock. Pilot on board and we had the gangway ashore at TPPI Terminal just after 7 o'clock. We started to discharge at 14 thirty and I was in my cabin at 4 o'clock. There was an e-mail from the 2nd Officer that signed off in Sungai Linggi.

When I joined the ship he asked how I could drop my pillow.
- What pillow? I asked
- The one you bought on Istanbul International
- How do you know about that?
- I follow your web page

I told him that I had seen these pillows around for as long as I could remember. And there must be something good with them as there are so many people using them. So I decided to buy one.
- Was it any good? He aske
- It was great, I said
- I will buy one, and I will send you a picture.

I received pictures today, but no pictures of any pillow on the flight. Well, there was a picture of them in the van bound for Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

It was hell of a journey. 32 hrs from the moment I stepped on the service boat to the moment I put the luggage in my room.

Saturday 26 ^th of August 2017 and we left Tuban 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Bound for Gresik anchorage waiting to come alongside on the 29th of August.

We dropped anchor at 9 o'clock in the evening. Pilot will board early Tuesday morning.

Sunday 27 ^th of August 2017 and we were still anchored when i woke up. I put on my kettle and Itried the new tea the Cadet and 4th Engineer had bought for me when they were ashore in Tuban. Just say black tea on the pack, but it was OK.

The day was spent preparing for the loading and to make pre-planning for the drills we will have tomorrow. I started to watch a movie with our Cadet and 4th Engineer yesterday, but it was what we call a sleeping pill. So we will see if we make another try again tonight.

They knocked at my door at 8 o'clock. I was almost in bed.
- Movie time!
- What the? Is it a middle of night cinema?

They had found an Arnold S movie, Maggie or something like that. The movie yesterday, and I was under the impression that it could not get worse. Well, this Maggie movie was a real low water mark. Fast forward and we had finished the movie in less than an hour.

Monday 28 ^th of August 2017 and we held our drills and we prepared for arrival with the pre-arrival checks and tests. We expect to be alongside around 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. So I need to get out of bed earlier than normally.

Shouldhopefully not be any problem as I have my alarm to go off at 6 o'clock in the morning. Then I spend 2 hors drinking tea enjoying myself before going to the CCR for the good morninggymnastics. This is a new technique I use since I got old. Only thing that have got easier with age, to get out of bed in the morning.

Anyway, so if they call me at 5, no problem as I'm used to be out of bed early. And as an extra perk, coming home and it is no problem to get out of bed going to watch birds.

Tuesday 29 ^th of August 2017 and we were still anchored when I woke up. I had forgot to turn off my alarm so I woke up when the alarm went off. I had expected to be alongside by then. Now it is Pilot at 9 and later on 10 thirty and it was cancelled again.

Finally, we got the pilot in the afternoon and we will be along side 6 to 7 o'clock tonight. I took the opportunity for a quick power nap in the afternoon. We had all fast at 17:36 but we didn't had the gangway down until one hour later. We had to move the ship in order to be able to land the gangway so the Surveyors and Loading Master could come on board.

Paper work and we could start the loading at 22:12 and I was in my cabin just after 11. I watched an episode of a boring TV series before going to bed.

Wednesday 30 ^th of August 2017 and I was in the CCR by 9 o'clock. They were on board to pick up our garbage. I had prepared the garbage receipt yesterday so it was just for me to get it signed when the garbage was off the ship. We will try to decanting our slop tank on the way to Tanjung Pelepas so I went down to the engine room to prepare the ODME with our Cadet.

BOOM!!! We ran in to several hard working Engineers, lucky me, I had brought my camera.

Well, I sneaked the door open to the ECR (Engine Control room) hoping to get someSPY CAM ACTION© Well, there was only our 4th Engineer scribbling something in a notebook. Not what I had been hopingfor.

But we ran in to the 2nd Engineer when he was busy on the main engine. He asked me to send the pictures to him. I would do so, just as last time when he was busy with the boiler. Our Cadet and I continued to the FRAMO room and the ODME equipment. We need to open the water and air to the ODME.

We also checked the cleaning liquid and a few other valves while there. It is a bit of adventure to come all the way down here, so we're better off making sure we don't have to come back.

4th Engineer and Motorman

We went back up to the CCR and we continue with the inventory of the hospital and we kept our self busy until lunch. And I had to attend to the CCR after lunch as we were about to complete the loading. We completed loading at 13:24, 15 hours loading and we had expected the pilot to be on board at 5 or 6 o'clock. But the custom took longer than expected and I went to my cabin after a late dinner.

Well, end of the month and I have to award Mr. He-man of the month. I had seen a lot of Engineer “action” today. But who will win the award? The Engineer with the power tool or the Engineer scribbling in a notebook? Well, here he is! The He-man of the month August 2017.

It was 10 o'clock in the evening before we could leave Gresik. Many hours later than expected. Well, I was back in my cabin around 10 thirty and I could go to bed.

Thursday 31 ^st of August 2017 and it turned out to be a pretty good day. We managed to decant 170m3 from our slop tanks. We made 3 enclosed space entries. Our Cadet and I almost finished the hospital/ medicine inventory.

Time turned quickly and it was soon time for dinner. I watched a video with our Danish Cadet and Engineer, 2 and a half hour of sleeping pill. I was really relieved when the movie finally came to an end. And the month of August 2017 came to an end with the movie. We will advance ships time by an hour during the night.
