It was a misty morning but the temperature was nice so I'm looking forward to a day in the delta looking for tigers. We left Sundarban Riverside Holiday Resort ghat at 6 o'clock. We had been on our way for 10 minutes when we spotted an Asian Paradise Flycatcher in full breeding plumage.

A Spotted Deer looking at us
I recognise the area from the last time. We drive down towards the “Big Boss” area. Big Boss is what the Forester calls a very big Tiger and his territory is 3 islands. We always see a lot of tracks in the mud there as Big Boss is busy walking around marking his territory.
We see many birds on the way, but this time we don't stop to take pictures as I have most of them on picture already. Only stop for a few birds that I need to get better pictures of.
We find nothing but tiger tracks in the “Big Boss” area. We see the beautiful Eurasian Curlew in the mudflats. There is also two Lesser Adjutant Storks, and that's about it. Well, of course, beautiful surroundings. We leave the area starting to work our way back to the Sundarban Riverside Holiday Resort. Very nice, I can't wait to get back.
There is only a board covered with a blanket to sit on and my arse was sore. This was not a nice experience, the boat we had last time was much better. And the boat we had last time was easy to manoeuvre. This boat is really not fit for any safari.
Good for groups just hissing by, but I need to get in to position to get pictures of birds etc. Well, forget it. We spot a Crested Serpent Eagle on the way back to the hotel and we try to get a picture. Well, we are driving through the branches and the bird is long gone by the time we are in some kind of position. But we see the bird on the way back and I'm lucky with the pictures.
Stuck in the jungle trying to get a picture of an eagle
I asked them to take me back to the hotel, by now my arse was killing me and the last fun for today was a huge crocodile, maybe 5 meters long. Not as big as the one we saw last time. But it was a “BIG” boy. Again, manoeuvring the boat, not possible for them to turn and when I told him to stop and turn around we were a wee bit upstream from the crocodile.
Now we started to do circles upstream from the crocodile and by the time we were in, well, we never got in to position. But by the time we were back at the crocodile the “BIG” boy took off with a splash. We continued to the hotel and it wasn’t until I looked at my pictures that I saw that something was wrong with the crocodile. The crocodile have most likely been in a fight as we can see that the head is injured.
