Aladdin's adventure Yala National Park - Block 1
Sunday 21 st of May 2017 and yet again, the break had been the best idea I have come up with. And now I was really eager to get out in the track again. We spotted another Ceylon Paradise Flycatcher in a nest just inside the gate.

We stopped at our new friend, the Red-wattled Lapwing to get pictures of the nest and eggs. We saw a Ceylon Green Pigeon, endemic and beautiful. We also went to have a look for our friend the Yellow-crowned Woodpecker.

It was a nice afternoon and as with the other safaris, I had enjoyed it but I lost all my pictures from the afternoon safari. The only picture I have remaining is of the Hornbills above. And the Ceylon Paradise Flycatcher below as I sent it to my friend via e-mail

The below pictures are from my afternoon safari on the 22nd of May. Of course, the Ceylon Green Pigeon was not to be found again. An endemic bird that we saw today and I really hope I see the bird again.

Sri Lankan Green Pigeon, an endemic bird and my fifth endemic bird since I arrived to Sri Lanka. When we drove to the gate to get back home I spotted my 6th endemic bird, the Red-backed Woodpecker. Read about the Red-backed Woodpecker HERE

But we managed to get more pictures of the Ceylon Paradise Flycatcher in the nest. Now both the female and the male. I also got the pictures of the Red-wattled Lapwing nest and eggs. So today not many pictures, and most of them taken on the 22nd of May. But I was happy that I saw the eggs and the Ceylon Paradise Flycatcher again.

Well, it have been an amazing day, yet another amazing day that is! Tomorrow and my alarm is set to go off at 5 and I will try to keep better track on my pictures and the delete button so it won't happen again. Tomorrow morning and we will be in Bundala National Park. Click HERE to find out what we discover in the wildlife.
