Aladdin snorkelling at Amed, Bali

OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.

Tuesday 17 ^th of January 2017 and they came to pick me up at 7 thirty. We arrived to Amed at 10 o'clock so it was only 2 and a half hour to get there. A pleasant surprise! We will go into the water from the beach and I will not use my wet suit.

We are going in to the water from the beach at a restaurant, and, well, I might not look at my best wearing the wet suit so I decided not to expose the other divers and snorkelers atthe restaurant for me and the wet suit. Different when I'm alone on a boat, then I can wear my wet suit.

My Guide laughed and he understood what I was talking about.

Anyway, we arrived to the restaurant and I asked for tea and a cheese &onion omelette. A quick snack before the snorkelling. My tea came and the omelette came not long after.
- What the? The omelette is full of red chilli

I called the Waitress and I told her that I have ordered a cheese & onion, NOT A CHILLI & ONION! This was how she used to make the omelettes she said. I could not help myself and I asked her why they had menus laying around the restaurant.

I made a mental note not to ask for any more omelettes at this place. Anyway, I finished my teaand it was time to get in to the water.

The beach is black sand, gravel and small stones so it was quite easy to get in to the water.

The first two metes underwater was the black sand and then the corrals started and it was a very beautiful place to be snorkelling at. But I should have brought bread for the fishes. It doesn’t sounds very exciting with the black sand and gravel. But it was very beautiful as soon as we came a few meters from the beach.

It didn't take long before we saw a Scorpion fish and then we spotted a beautiful Lion fish. We snorkelled for more than one hour and then suddenly the water become foggy with a very poor visibility. We gave up 30 minutes later and we had a quick lunch at the restaurant before we drove back to my last night at my hotel in Sanur.

We drove back to Sanur and it was pouring down when we left Amed. Good for the rice and we drove slowly keeping an eye out for the beautiful Cattle Egret in the orange breeding plumage. Isaw a few Cattle Egrets but they were too far away so we never bothered to stop to take any pictures.

It was a beautiful landscape, like the rice paddies I have been driving by on the Philippines, all these countries could easily have been like a paradise. But the garbage and shit laying around destroy the whole country.

What a shame! The nature is destroyed where ever you look. Children sitting with their parents, and children and parents throw the garbage around. And with this attitude it is easy to understand that no one gives a shit when they dump toxic and oil etc. in the nature. Never mindas long as there is a cool video we can watch on You Tube

We were sitting in the Suzuki van, so it was not very comfortable but it was a nice ride looking at the landscape passing by outside the window.

We passed a motorcycle fully loaded with cuddly toys. I also saw a motorcycle loaded with so much grass so I could not see the driver or the motorcycle. We were soon approaching Sanur andmy hotel. A quick change and I will take a taxi to Kuta Beach for my last night on Bali.

I asked the driver to take me to Coliseum, the Italian restaurant where I had the chocolate mousse the other evening. The driver didn't know the place and I told him that we could have a look for it. We were very lucky, suddenly we passed the place so I asked the driver to stop.

I had the Spaghetti Salmone and when I was ready I asked for a chocolate mousse with extra whipped cream. OH! It was good so I asked for a second mousse. They brought an extra big glass cup.

I was back in my room around 8 o'clock and they will be here to pick me up tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock for transport to the airport. Singapore Airline to Bangkok via Singapore and we just need to click HERE to see if I make it to the airport in time.
