Well, the flag of Skåne, just a BONUS flag.
Monday 23rdof October 2017and my car from Westin Denarau Island Resort was booked for 9 thirty. At 09:35 I asked the hotel staff to call me a taxi. We arrived to Nadi InternationalAirport at 10 o'clock. Check-in was supposed to open at 10 o'clock but they didn't open until quarter past 10. First to check in and I was soonon the way to the security and at the security I spotted a Burger King and I went to ask if they had milkshake.
Out of strawberry so I got a chocolate shake and a Whooper that I enjoyed at Burger King before going to the security. Well, the milkshake was good, and, well, the whooper was also good while eating it. As soon as I finished the burger I felt bad.
I had asked for the 12 Fiji Dollar Whooper, when I should pay Idiscovered that they had an 18 Fiji Dollars. More Dollars so it must be a much better burger and I went for that option.
Should have stuck with the 12 dollar option, but it was too late now. I left Burger King and I went to the security and immigration.
We arrive to Nadi International Airport
I see a Burger King and I get hungry
Waiting for my burger
Was quite quick to get through security and immigration and I was soon stepping in to Air New Zealand's lounge at Nadi International. 20 minutes later and the lounge was full and I wonder howbig the business class section they have on the airplane.
Check in online and when I choose seat it looked like 30 to 40 seats in biz. But here we have way more than 40 passengers in the lounge. And all of them are all over the food like a fight to come first on a 3 $ buffet. I only had a bottle of soda water.
Internet was sucking balls, just like at Westin Denarau Island Resort and I had to use my phone as a “hot spot” for internet
Well, the most important is that the time passing quick so we can get to Auckland. Boarding at 12:20 and I never learn. No sign of any boarding when I showed up at 12:20.
Narita, Tokyo, a totally different story. Flying with a Japanese airline and it is boarding in time. Well, except one time. Boarding time and a PA message. - Sorry, boarding is delayed
2 Minutes after boarding time and a new PA message, boarding could start. Anyway, here we're on Fiji and no sign of any boarding at 12:20. The queue to the premium boarding was very long and for economy class was almost empty. Full lounge and the priority boarding queue looked like all passengers had priority boarding pass. I went to the economy class queue. Much quicker as they started boarding at the same time as the priority boarding.
Arriving and the lounge is empty

BOOM! And the lounge is full

Waiting to take off
Boarding Air New Zealand's flight NZ 53 bound for Auckland. I took my seat and as there was a bottle of water at my seat I said “no thanks” when they came to offer me a drink. - What do you want to drink after take off? - Tea, Earle Grey. Do you have the gig mugs? - Yes, we have - Great!
The flight was full to the last seat but we managed to get out on the tarmac in time. We took off and I was soon dozing off. I woke up at 3 o'clock when the Stewardess came with the tea and food. I was going with salmon, starter and main course. 3 hours flight and time passed kind of quickly and we were soon descending to Auckland International Airport.
There was a long queue to the immigration and there was only a very few Immigration Officers working so it took quite some time before it was my turn. Custom was almost empty by the time I passed. I was delayed at the baggage service to pick up my plug adapter that I had forgot in the lounge when I was flying to Fiji a month ago.
I went to look for my driver as soon as I was in the arrival hall. I found a guy with my name and we were soon on our way to the car and we expect 30 to 40 minutes to reach down town Auckland.
Loading my luggage in the taxi
On the way to Auckland
We have to drive through a tunnel
Coming out of the tunnel and we can see the Auckland Tower
Auckland Tower
Albatross
And I learned that they had never had any Albatrosses in Auckland so it must be a Kelp Gull
The Contemporary Auckland Getaway hotel is located just under the Auckland Tower. We had to stop to pick up the key before we continued to the hotel. The room was OK and I had my own laundry machine. There was a small kitchen so I can make my tea. I was happy with my room and now I only need to go to the Supermarket to buy smoked salmon and camembert.
I checked internet for a vape shop in the area before I left for the Supermarket and I was lucky. Finally some luck! There was a vape shop on the way to the Supermarket. I stopped at the shop and I bought some “stronger” juice. The visit set me back by 250 Dollars. I continued to Countdown and I bought Smoked Salmon and camembert cheese, enough to last me until it is time to leave Auckland.
The Contemporary Auckland Getaway hotel seems to be in a perfect location smack in down town Auckland. Just a few minutes’ walk to everything. Always hard to book hotel at a place you have never been before. So I was very happy.

Habitat tours will come to pick me up at 13:50 tomorrow and we will go to check out the Tawharanui, best opportunities to see KIWI in the wild near Auckland. And yes, I'm excited! Tonga, no Tongan Whistler! Fiji, no Pink-billed Parrotfinch so I cannot leave New Zealand without having seen the Kiwi. ClickHEREto check it out.
