Well, the flag of Skåne, just a BONUS flag.
Sunday 24thof July 2016and I had my alarm to go off at 6 thirty even though we were not going to leave until 8 thirty. I had my breakfast, a bottle of diet drink at my desk while waking up.
I had a shower and there wasn't really anything to pack. I just closed my bag and I was ready. I went for breakfast and it was not very good. 25$ was expensive, same with the dinner, the foodhere is quite expensive for what you get. But it is better than 125$ at Char Restaurant in Darwin. That was a scam!
They had the normal, baked beans (disgusting) scrambled eggs and some style of Bacon that I really don't care for. Round slices, almost like ham and it don't look like bacon.
And the potato, brown harsh style. Seriously, is there really anyone prefer brown harsh instead of home fried potato? I find it very hard to believe. And the tea, self-service and I had to fill up a plate with small cups of tea to bring back to mytable. And the eating was outside, well, just like yesterday dinner.
But there are not much insects so it is OK.
I asked for big cups and I was offered paper cups as the tea mugswere for Cappuccino or something like that.
Strange, not using the tea mugs for tea. Well, this is how they operates around here in Kakadu. I finished my breakfast and I went to get my bag in my room. I was watching a Olive-backed oriole in a tree on the parking lot when they
A billabong
(/ˈbɪləbɒŋ/, bil-ə-bong) is an oxbow lake, an isolated pond left behind after a river changes course. Billabongs are usually formed when the path of a creek or river changes, leaving the former branch with a dead end. Billabongs, reflecting the arid Australian climate in which these "dead rivers" are found, fill with water seasonally and are dry for a greater part of the year.

came to pick me up.
We took off to the water front and the Yellow Water Cruises jetty for a two hour cruise on the Yellow water billabong. It took us 2 minutes to drive down to the jetty and when we were on the jetty we could see 4 boats coming back with passengers form the early morning tour.

We're back at the jetty
We get in to the bus and we're leaving Yellow Water Billabong behind
We're soon on Kakadu Highway bound for Nourlangie Rock to see some Aboriginal rock paintings
There is something called the Anbangbang gallery at the Nourlangie Rock and we're going to have a look at them before we go to our hotel. Well, camping, but I will stay in a lodge. We will have lunch there and then we will take off to see a sunset somewhere.
To be honest, I had already been pondering the idea to skip the sunset and to do some “birding” at the camping site. I really want to see the Black Cockatoo parrot. I have seen the white, Baretta's Fred. The black one is very beautiful with the red tail feathers. I had seen plenty of them from the bus but I never had had any chance to get any pictures.
We were approaching the Anbangbang gallery and I could see the Nourlangie Rock on the left hand side of the bus. We expect to stay here for an hour. Walking to see the Aboriginal rock paintings and then up on a height to see the views. So we took off and I could hear some birds but I saw no birds. I saw a lizard, the only wild life around here as it seems.

At the lookout looking at Nourlangie Rock
We left the Aboriginal rock paintings at Anbangbang gallery, Nourlangie Rock behind. We will go to the Kakadu Lodge where we will stay overnight. They will have lunch at the camping site beforetaking off to see the sunset. They dropped me at my lodge and I told my Guide that I would not come for lunch or dinner. I'm on diet.
I was shocked when my Guide told me that we would leave at 6 o'clock in the morning. I need to set my alarm for 5 o'clock. And no, I will not come down to the camping site to have breakfast tomorrow morning.
They would come to pick me up tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock. I went to the shop and I bought orange juice and some Kit Kat bars. That will be my dinner, I went to the restaurant at the camping side and well, they called it a Bistro. Just an excuse not to have proper food, or chairs and tables.
I was looking for the Black Cockatoo but the only bird I saw was a Blue-faced Honeyeater and one Ibis and it was very hot to walk around so I went back to my room. I enjoyed the rest of the evening in my room and I went to bed at 11 and I willhopefully be able to wake up at 5 o'clock tomorrow morning.
We will start the day by getting to yet another water fall for swimming. I will not swim as I will try to find the Black Cockatoo. If I will find the bird? Just clickHEREto find out what birds and adventures I will run in to tomorrow.
