and my alarm went off at 3 thirty and I left Hamgården Nature Resort Tiveden at around 5 thirty. The first thing I discover is that it was raining. Nothing I appreciated as the birds will avoid the rain. I started the birding at Tiveden National park 06:03 and there was no sign off any birds, the forest was very quiet.
Raining
When the rain stops it takes a few seconds and the forest is full of bird song. Driving along the gravel road to the main gate and suddenly, I spot a male Western Capercaillie on the side of the road. Far away and raining so no good light condition.
I turned off the car and I went out to try to get a picture. The bird took off and I was very disappointed, seems like I will not get any picture of the Western Capercaillie.

Flying away
My Guide came to pick me up at 3 o´clock in the afternoon and we took off to go look for the Great Grey Owl. We drove to Örebro and we passed a shopping centre and we decided to stop there on the way back to Hamgården Nature Resort Tiveden to buy a hard drive.
We left the highway #E20 just north of Örebro and we were at the owl area 15 minutes later. We walked / drove around looking for the owl. We were not lucky with the owl.

We met two girls looking for the owl and we watched a pin on the field. Someone had put a pin on the field for the owl to sit on. But no sign of the owl. The girl told me about Kvismaren Nature Reserve and I will go to check out the area tomorrow.
It started to snow and it was darn cold and we decided to drive back to Hamgården Nature Resort Tiveden. We stopped to buy my hard drive and as we were hungry we stopped to eat pizza in Laxå.
I was full when we left the restaurant, one pizza and a kebab. And I was shocked, it was a really big kebab. Biggest I had never seen, 50 cm long. It was getting very cold and it started to “smoke” from the lakes and it was very beautiful to look at.

I went to bed when I was back at the cottage and tomorrow morning I will start at Tiveden National Park and then I will drive to Örebro for a medical examination. We will check out a few nature reserves around Örebro before going to look for the Great Grey Owl, so this will be exciting. So hang on and click HERE
to find out if we have any luck with the owl.
