Wednesday 10 th of February 2021 and I met my Guide from Bird Safari Sweden at the Supermarket at Salbohed at 06 thirty. From there it was 5 minutes to drive to the hide in the forest. Took us about 5 minutes to walk to the hide.
We fired up the gas heater and my Guide left and I was alone waiting for the day light.

The Northern Goshawk was soon landing, but took off before I can get a picture. 10 to 20 minutes later and the Goshawk came back but the bird never landed.
I was waiting for the bird to come back and I had some other birds I took pictures of. The Eurasian Jay, a bird I have tried to get pictures of before but I had never managed to get any pictures. Now I had more luck and I managed to get a few pictures.

I saw quite a few birds, nothing I had not seen before and I managed to get some pictures. I was about to give up on the Goshawk when the bird landed. I managed to get a few pictures before the bird took off and landed in a tree top and I recorded the call from the bird.

Sitting in top of a tree. Starts calling and take off and we can hear the bird calling while disappearing. I was very happy to have seen the Goshawk and the pictures turned out to be quite OK so I was happy when I left the hide. The only thing was that I had no picture of the Goshawk facing me and showing the beautiful front.

Walk path through the snow
I stop to buy a semla on the way back to my room
I drove back to the Supermarket in Salbohed and I bought Semlor before I returned to my cottage at Fallängetorp för folk och fä and I made tea and I enjoyed my Semla, or was it 4? Anyway, we will drive north tomorrow morning to have a look for the Siberian Jay. It is a 2 hours’ drive and I will leave at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning.
