Sunday 19thof March 2023and my friend picked me up at 7 and we arrived to Samut Prakan 30 minutes later. Our friend was waiting for us at Robinsson and we took off towards Rangsit.
I was soon asleep and I woke up when they stopped at Amazon to buy Cappuccino to go. The Driver bought two bottles of MAX for me even though I had giving up drinking MAX. We left Amazon and I started the eBird app a few minutes after we left Amazon and it was 08:29.
We enter the area and we are working our way south while driving between the fields towards east and west. And there was a lot of birds and I knew from before that the driver is an excellent bird spotter. My friend is usually falling asleep every now and then.
Or he is busy looking for Thai Buddha amulets (พระเครื่อง) on his phone. But today he was really active and I was surprised. Maybe he will turn in to a good “spotter” for future bird watching adventures around Thailand.

Pond Heron in winter plumage
My friend is pointing out to birds left and right and he have even learnt a name, Black Drongo. He points to a stonechat and we manage to get some good pictures. Many of the pond herons have got their breeding plumage and I could see both Javan and Chinese pond herons. The Chinese was moulting, but some of the Javan pond herons are in full breeding plumage.
All the Little Egrets I could see had breeding plumage and many of them had red feet instead of yellow. There were also Catlee Egrets and they were ranging all from white to their orange breeding plumage.

My friend is really on the go today, seems like he has lost the interest in Thai Buddha amulets (พระเครื่อง) and he is looking for birds like never before. He points to a bush and say that there is a blue bird. Thanks to him we see the Common Kingfisher.
He is also pointing to a black spot and say that there is a black bird. The bird takes off and we see that it is an Indochinese Roller.
There was House Sparrow foraging on the pavement and my friend called out that we had a bird in front of us. I hang out the window trying to get a picture.

We see the Eastern Yellow Wagtail / นกเด้าลมเหลือง in two areas, about 40 birds all together. I got some useful information www.bordforum.net and it seems like they are about to leave Thailand to fly to Siberia and Alaska to have babies.
As we can see on the below pictures, they are moulting in to breeding plumage.

Today's track at Pathum Thani Rice Research Center
I turn off the eBird app and we leave Pathum Thani Rice Research Center and we decide to go drink tea at Future Park in Rangsit. We find Breadtalk or something like that and even though weshould not, we bought some bread to enjoy with our tea.
We were full when we left and this was not the plan as we were going home to eat pork collar and home-made mango ice cream. I spend the afternoon yesterday to make ice cream and we will try the ice cream today.
We left BreadTalk and we drove back to Bangkok and we started to make food.

I had too much to eat and now it will be no more extravaganza, back to my strict diet. It have been too much carbs lately so from now on it will be healthy food only.
The trip to Chiang Mai started very good but the last two days was a disaster with toast and egg tarts. And pasta when we came back to Bangkok. My yoga teacher went to Chiang Mai when we came back to Bangkok so no yoga until I am back from my bird watching in North America.
But I will go to see ปีศาจแดง ก.กุมานนท์, The Red Devil at Chaiyasit Muay Thai Gym every day.
Next birding adventire at the Everglades National Park in Florida and I am pretty excited. You just need to clickHEREto find out if I find any wildlife.
