Tuesday 3 rd of October 2017 and my alarm went off at 5 o'clock. I got out of bed wishing for a hot shower, but it is not available here. So my next hot shower will be when I'm back on Fiji. Anyway, we left Vava'u Villa at 06:45 and when we were on the jetty in Neiafu we could see the boat approaching. We were soon leaving Neiafu passing Mount Talau, the place where I was bird watching last Saturday afternoon.

No whales and we go to have our lunch. We stop in a bay for lunch and we stay there for quite a while. So we have time to explore an underwater cave. The opening is under water and when we come up we're in a cave. The children were of course very excited. Our Guide would take us in to the cave when he was ready with his lunch. I had brought a roll of OREO or lunch so I was ready in a jiff. That gave me time for a swim.

When the Guide was ready with his lunch we went in to the cave. Of course I made a video of the adventure for you to enjoy on tedious afternoons.

We are soon on our way again looking for whales. It turned in to late afternoon and we had not been able to swim with any Humpback whales. We spotted some whales but they wer eon their way so it was not possible to swim with them. We also managed to listen to a singing Humpback whale. We sent down a underwater microphone and we were lucky, there was a whale singing for us.

Otherwise we were not very lucky and it was soon time to go back to Neiafu and the van that will take us to Vava'u Villa. We will go to “TOWN” for dinner tonight, the Dancing Rooster. I was told it was a Swedish Chef and owner. But as I guessed, he was a Swiss man according to internet.

Barber shop in Neiafu, Vava'u
A quick shave

We had dinner at the Dancing Rooster, good food, but we won't come back. Must have been the slowest service in town. Hours after hour of waiting. I finished my food and I took the opportunity to have a shave in the barber shop. The shower in my room leaves a whole lot to wish for so I cannot shave. We were back at Vava'u Villa late and I went to bed, alarm will go off at 5 o'clock tomorrow morning. Another day of whale swimming, click HERE to find out if we're lucky tomorrow.
